Prematchapp

Prematch is a digital platform / mobile app aimed at grassroots and amateur football (soccer). It gives non-professional players, teams and fans access to performance data, league and match news, player profiles, and a “gamified” experience similar to pro-level football — with personal stats, rankings, and a mock “market value” system.

Functions

  • Player Profiles & Market Value — each user can maintain a profile with performance stats, and Prematch calculates a “market value” for players (similar to pro-level valuations) based on their match data and league level.
  • Match Results, League & Stats Coverage — the app covers many amateur leagues and matches, offering results, statistics, goals, assists, and more for grassroots divisions.
  • Rankings & Performance Points — after each matchday, players and teams are ranked based on performance, letting users compare themselves within their team or league.
  • Personalized News & Notifications — users can get push-notifications about match results, news, transfers, or updates for their chosen players, teams, or leagues.
  • Social & Community Features — users can follow clubs, teammates or friends, track their activity, and stay engaged as part of a broader grassroots football community.

Advantages

  • Brings pro-style data & engagement to amateur football — players at grassroots level get access to stats, valuations and league-wide ranking, which normally only exist in professional environments.
  • Inclusive for all levels — works across many amateur leagues, making it useful not only for serious clubs but also casual players and weekend leagues.
  • Motivating & fun — “market value”, rankings, and performance-based points add a competitive and gamified element to amateur football, increasing motivation.
  • Information & community hub — collects results, news, stats, and match info for many small clubs and leagues, which otherwise may be poorly covered — useful for players, fans, coaches alike.
  • Free plus optional premium features — base functionality is free to use, which lowers the barrier for adoption among amateur players and clubs.

Disadvantages

  • Dependent on user & club data input — accuracy of stats, market values and rankings depends on correct data entry
  • if clubs or players fail to report results reliably, the value decreases.
  • May oversimplify “real value” — market value and performance points are symbolic or relative, not equivalent to professional-level valuations — could give unrealistic expectations.
  • Variable data coverage — while many leagues are covered, some amateur clubs may lack consistent data reporting or participation, which can lead to incomplete records or gaps.
  • Potential overemphasis on gamification — focusing on “market value” and rankings could shift priority from enjoyment or development to competition, which might not suit all players.
  • Privacy & data handling — as with any social/sports app, managing personal and performance data requires trust
  • some users may be skeptical about sharing their info broadly.
